Mahan Rykiel led a master planning effort for Waverly, one of Baltimore’s “Main Street” communities. The process was anchored by an intensive three-day charrette with the purpose of developing a framework to guide continued revitalization of the Waverly commercial district.
The process included market assessment, community branding, physical planning and design and individual business consultations. A significant focus was working with numerous stakeholders and partners to understand and refine current projects/initiatives and connect them, along with additional projects, into a coherent district. Mahan Rykiel and the team gave particular attention to easy, low-cost and highly visible projects that could be implemented in the short term.
