“The resort was designed to reflect the same level of quality and sophistication as other iconic MGM hotels while respecting the geography and history of the area.”
MGM National Harbor is a $1.5 billion mixed-use resort, the newest addition to the booming multiuse National Harbor development situated along the Potomac Riverfront. A 23-acre destination resort casino, the project also includes a mix of retail, entertainment and dining. Mahan Rykiel was tasked with designing the exterior public areas and entrances, including the:
• West Casino Terrace
•North and South Terraces
•Ballroom Terrace
•Entry Garden
•Hotel Pool Deck
•Hotel, VIP and Bus Drop-Offs
The resort was designed to reflect the same level of quality and sophistication as other iconic MGM hotels while respecting the geography and history of the area. Monumental, serene and rich in material selection, a broad range of visitors are attracted to the humanscale comfort and intimacy juxtaposed to a monumental interactive fountain, LED screens, and performance and gathering spaces—with inspiring views of National Harbor and the Potomac River.
MGM National Harbor’s many amenities, including outdoor games, dining and grass terraces have been a welcome addition for many local residents who join visitors from around the world to enjoy summer nights above an exciting new landscape along the Potomac.
