The Purple Line is a new light rail line that connects Bethesda to New Carrollton in the Washington D.C Metro area. The 16-mile long corridor traverses a densely developed urban and suburban landscape connecting several Washington Metro transit stops. MRA provided various visualization and land use impact studies for particularly challenging portions of the alignment.
MRA’s work includes evaluating and designing circulation networks for bicycles, pedestrians, and motor vehicles. Work included concepts for open space and multimodal connections at station stops, evaluating current uses at stops and considerations for future development.
