Mahan Rykiel Strengthens Transportation Services

Mahan Rykiel Associates is excited to announce the addition of Richard Wilke, PLA, to our team as a Senior Associate. Richard brings a wealth of experience having led successful projects at the Maryland Department of Transportation and in the private sector that includes landscape architecture, project management, construction observation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. His expertise spans environmental restoration, stormwater management, and sustainable design, with a focus on integrating natural and manmade systems. Notably, Richard managed landscape architecture for key highway projects in Maryland, including the MD 32 corridor, I-695 Beltway widening, and MD 24 slope stabilization, prioritizing safety, aesthetics, and environmental protection while ensuring regulatory compliance and community engagement.

Richard will assist in leading Mahan Rykiel’s transportation work across the Mid-Atlantic, continuing the firm’s legacy of over 40 years with impactful projects such as the Intercounty Connector, Purple Line, Baltimore Light Rail alignment, Woodrow Wilson Bridge, and thousands of miles of highways and roads. We are excited for the creativity and experience Richard will bring to our team as we continue delivering resilient, high-quality transportation solutions to our clients and collaborators across the region.

We look forward to working together to shape innovative and sustainable transportation solutions.
