BALTIMORE—-Mahan Rykiel Associates, a Baltimore-based landscape architecture, urban design and planning firm is pleased to announce the hiring of Dongning (Burt) Huang, Lois Nguyen and Ben Chronister as Staff Landscape Designers. “We are thrilled to welcome these new talented and technologically savvy new staff to our design practice,” said Jingpeng Gu, President of Mahan Rykiel Associates.
Dongning (Burt) Huang has a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from The Rhode Island School of Design. He also has a Bachelor of Landscape Gardening with a Horticulture Concentration from Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), Wuhan, China. He is assisting various studios with visual communications and brings an extra level of expertise with 3-D modeling and rendering. Burt is currently collaborating on several mixed-use projects in D.C.
Lois Nguyen recently graduated from Cornell University, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture with a Concentration in Health, Disability, and Landscape. While at Cornell, she participated in the French Heritage Society’s French-American intern exchange at the King’s Kitchen Garden at Versailles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, learning French historical horticulture techniques for cultivating ornamental fruit trees and vegetable gardening. She also has a degree in Sculpture + Extended Media Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts, Honors College. She is currently collaborating on several healthcare projects with the Institutional Team.
Also joining Mahan Rykiel, is Ben Chronister. Ben is a 2019 graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s in landscape architecture and minors in Forest Ecosystems and Sustainability Leadership. His studies focused on regenerative landscapes, unifying ecology, food systems, and social justice in different forms of human space. He is currently assisting with several international and hospitality projects.
