Accepting Applications for Internship

Mahan Rykiel Associates’ internship program creates an opportunity and platform for the advancement and growth for the future generation of Landscape Architects.  The program will expose candidates to real world projects and scenarios.  You’ll be engaging directly with firm principles and participate on all phases of projects form conceptual design through project implementation.  Each candidate will have opportunities to attend client meetings, engage with firm Principals, tour constructed projects with the designer and visit real construction sites.  Every step of the program will expose you to design progression from concepts through implementation.

A unique experience with real impact:  Interns are provided with a unique opportunity to own their own project from stakeholder engagement through concept development.  The project culminates with a pitch to the Mahan Rykiel’s leadership team and key project stakeholders.

  • Interns are provided with 12 work days over the course of the internship to dedicate to the Intern Project.
  • Internship runs from June 3rd through August 16th.  *Dates are negotiable based on individual school program schedules and needs.
  • Preference is given to students in their final 2 years of their respective program and both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply.

Compensation:  Our internships are compensated!  We believe that contribution to our collaborative studio deserves to be compensated. We offer all interns $20 an hour to cover food, travel and temporary housing in the Baltimore MD area during the course of the internship.
